REAL MARYLAND FC OPENS PRE-SEASON
ON POSITIVE NOTE
April 6, 2009 – Silver Spring, MD – Real Maryland FC opened up their pre-season this past weekend against George Mason University and the Rochester Rhinos with a win and a draw.
On Saturday, the Monarch’s defeated GMU 2-0. The match gave Coach Hudson a good opportunity to look at some trialists who came in to try and fill the last couple of open roster spots. On Sunday, the team was back in action facing USL 1 side, the Rochester Rhinos. The match ended in a 2-2 draw, with strong physical play from both sides. “Overall, the weekend was positive,” said Coach Hudson. “It was nice to get on our home stadium’s pitch against some good competition.”
Next Friday on April 10th, Real Maryland will head up to Baltimore to face Crystal Palace. The match will be held in honor of Matt DeOrsey and will be held as a charitable event for the fight against Epilepsy.
