Monarchs Sign Hamed Modibo Diallo ? Silver Spring, MD -- Real Maryland and Say Management USA, LLC have reached an agreement on the former International Ivory Coast Hamed Modibo Diallo. Diallo, a native of C?te d'Ivoire, has signed with the Real Maryland FC Monarchs of the United Soccer Leagues, pending Visa approval. Before he signed with the Monarchs, he played with the Carolina RailHawks in the USL First Division.? Prior to seeing limited playing time in 2009, Diallo scored seven goals and registered three assists in 16 games to finish with a team-leading 17 points in 2008. He registered an assist in his debut with the team (a 1-1 draw at Vancouver) and scored a hat trick in a 4-3 loss at Seattle on Aug. 24. In 2007, Diallo started his USL Career with the Rochester Rhinos on fire, he scored nine goals and had two assists from a team-leading 20 points. In 1999, Diallo was the top goal scorer (20) in France?s Ligue 2 with Stade Laval. He also won the Ligue 2 Golden Boot in 2002 with Amiens SC. Diallo has also played professionally in Belgium, Italy, Sweden and Qatar. Diallo was capped seven times from 1998-2003 by C?te d'Ivoire and he scored two goals in international play. He was a member of the team that competed in the 2000 African Cup of Nations tournament. Diallo began his career in France, initially in the youth academy of Le Havre, later playing for Laval, Amiens, Angers, as well as with Al Rayyan un Qatar, Hammarby in Sweden, Turris in Italy, and Excelsior Virton in Belgium. He was the top scorer in the French Ligue 2 twice: in 1999 with Laval, and in 2002 with Amiens. Real Maryland FC participates in the Second Division, the Super 20 and the Super Y League of the United Soccer Leagues.?
