Monarchs to Defend Home Record

Silver Spring, MD- Real Maryland FC looks to keep their unbeaten home record intact this Saturday, May 16th when they take on the Western Mass Pioneers in a USL Division 2 match up.

The Monarchs are coming off a tough 2-0 victory over in-state rivals Crystal Palace Baltimore and look to continue this success against the Pioneers. Real Maryland FC has 6 points in 3 matches and sits 1 point out of first place coming into this weekend’s contest. With creative play out of the mid-field and a dangerous set piece attack, the Monarchs have been able to create numerous chances in front of the net.

Western Mass comes into Lester Stadium looking for their first points of the year. The Pioneers have battled in two close matches against Harrisburg and Richmond, who both sit in the top half of the table.  Striker Neil Krause will hope to add to his goal total against what has proved to be a solid Monarch defense, anchored by Yendry Diaz.

Both teams are in need of this win. The Monarchs would love to have the three points, which could possibly jump them to the top of the table. The Pioneers are in need the 3 points to get the season headed in a positive direction.

Saturday’s match will be played at Lester Stadium at Richard Montgomery High School in Rockville, Maryland.  Kick-off is at 6 p.m.
