Real Maryland Sign Midfield Four Silver Spring, MD -- Real Maryland FC announced today the signings of four new additions, pending USL and USSF approval. Twenty Three year-old Tom Taylor, joins from Wrexham Football Club. The 6 foot 3 Englishman, who came up through the ranks as a trainee at Derby County will arrive in Maryland ready for pre season training in April. Taylor, who made his professional debut at the age of 19 after being signed by Roy Hodgson, helped his team Viking Stavanger to win the Norwegian Premier League title in 2005. He was recently signed by Brian Little, then Wrexham manager, after a spell at the Portland Timbers of the USL Division 1. Along with Taylor, the Monarchs add three local players, Sean Rush, Michael Marchiano and Sal Caccavale. . Rush, signs from Brazilian team Osvaldo Cruz Futebol Clube. The promising young midfielder played in Italy before signing for Crystal Palace Baltimore in 2007. Rush has had interest from several European clubs and is looking forward to a very successful 2009. Marchiano comes to the Monarchs on the back of a championship winning season with the University of Maryland. The midfielder, who captained the Terrapins to the NCAA 2008 title, was a crucial part of Sasho Cirovski?s winning team. Sal Caccavale, who finished the 7th all time leading goal scorer for American University, joins after a spell in the MLS. After being drafted in 2007, Caccavale scored on his debut for the New York Red Bulls against the Columbus Crew. ?We?re very pleased with our latest signings and they are all hungry to come in and do well.
