Dennis Alas Named USL-2 Player of the Week

William Brindley also named to USL-2 Team of the Week

Monarchs’ midfielder Dennis Alas earned the USL-2 Player of the Week Award for his performance in Real Maryland’s 3-2 win over the Cleveland City Stars.

Alas had a hand in all three goals as Real Maryland came from 2-0 down. Alas started the comeback with a blast from 25 yards out.

Early in the second half, the Salvadorian international intercepted a pass in the City Stars defensive end and quickly fed the ball into William Brindley who laid it off for Nilson Perez to hammer home.

Alas then won the game for Real Maryland in the dying moments as his first time shot from a Brindley flick-on wickedly curled just inside the far post.

William Brindley was also named to the USL-2 Team of the Week. Brindley assisted on the game tying and game winning goals.

This is Brindley’s second USL-2 Team of the Week honor. The Eastern Shore native was also selected in week two after scoring the game winning goal against Pittsburgh.

Real Maryland congratulates both Alas and Brindley for their awards.
