Hello Monarchs fans! As you may have heard we lost a tough one this past Saturday up at Western Mass. The Pioneers came at us really hard on the offensive end. I have to give credit to Emilio Zelaya for making some incredible saves. We held them off for almost the entire game but playing down a man, they finally took advantage of the situation in the 82nd minute to beat us 1-0. I only mention playing down because I was the unfortunate recipient of two yellow cards turning into a red. It will kill me to sit out next match but I can promise you that I will be on that sideline cheering for my teammates.

Despite the loss, I think our first road trip was good for the team. It was our first chance to hang out together off the pitch, and I think it will really help on-field chemistry. Also, don’t think we didn’t notice the fans who made the LOOONG trip to support us. We really appreciate it and hope to see that contingent continue to grow.

I know other players have mentioned it already but I really want to thank our fans for showing us such support so far this season. I have played for a number of USL-2 teams and can say that even after just two games we already have a home field advantage at the Maryland SoccerPlex. The rowdy cheers, drums, horns and who knows what else really makes it a fun atmosphere for coaches, players and fans alike.
