USL Second Division Team of the Week

Come see Yendry Diaz and Sean Rush this Saturday, May 16th, 6 pm at Richard Montgomery High School when Real Maryland FC takes on the Western Mass Pioneers.

In the first three games of the 2009 Season, Diaz has started and played in every minute.  He has anchored the defense with his solid play and led the team to its first shutout of the season last week against Crystal Palace Baltimore.

Sean Rush has helped the Monarchs kickoff the Season with a bang when he scored the first goal of 2009 in the first home game against the Bermuda Hogges.  This past week he provided the assist on the second and final goal of the match against Crystal Palace Baltimore.

Both players were honored this week by the United Soccer Leagues as they were selected to the USL Division 2 Team of the Week.

In addition to the great match up between the Monarchs and the Pioneers, the Club will honor the Super Y League Club MVP of this past week’s games.  Each week, Real Maryland FC will announce the MVP’s of their Super Y League games in hopes of identifying selected players to go over to Spain to train in Real Sporting Gijon’s Youth Academy of La Liga.

Real Maryland FC participates in the Second Division of the United Soccer Leagues. All 2009 Regular Season Home Games will be played at Lester Stadium at Richard Montgomery High School in Rockville, MD.
