Rockville, MD- Real Maryland FC and Lester Stadium hosted its largest crowd of season this past Saturday when they took on CD Aguila in an International Friendly Match. The Monarchs fell to Aguila 3-0 when the game was final.
The Monarchs came out strong, and despite a goal in the 20? minute from Club Deportivo, were still able to maintain solid possession and control aspects of the game. Deportivo, who is one of the most prestigious teams in El Salvadorian football, came ready to attack, and for the most part, the Monarchs were able to halt the push forward.
With the regular season starting in just under two weeks, the international friendly proved to be yet another building block for Coach Hudson and his team. ?There?s a lot we can take from this game and the weekend overall and progress with,? said Coach Hudson afterwards.
On Friday night, the Monarchs visited in-state rival Crystal Palace Baltimore for the Maryland Cup.? The match was conducted on behalf of the memory of Matt DeOrsey and the fight against Epilepsy.? In back and forth play, Palace was able to capitalize on a late goal to secure the win.?
On Saturday, April 25th, Real Maryland FC will open up their 2nd Season in the Second Division of the United Soccer Leagues when they face the Bermuda Hogges at Richard Montgomery High School.? The game will begin at 6 pm.
