Super 20 Team Holds Successful Tryout

Saturday March 22, 2008, Germantown Maryland- The Real Maryland Super 20 Team held its penultimate round of tryouts this morning. Despite blistering winds and a few patches of hail, around 40 players participated in hopes of joining the Real Maryland Set-up.

Super 20 coach Roger Fernandez did not make things easy for the participants as they started the morning with fitness test, before going into small sided possession games, and eventually opening the field up to 11 v. 11.

“The level of skill was good this morning,” Fernandez said after watching the Pro team dispatch of George Mason 1-0. “I think the fitness is missing a little bit, but the talent is there and the touch is there.”

There will be a final set of tryouts before the Super 20 team is announced. Players will be invited back either by telephone or through the mail and will be instructed as to the date and time of the final tryout.
