Dennis Alas Leaves Real Maryland

Midfielder Heads To Luis Angel Firpo

Real Maryland have terminated Dennis Alas’ contract by mutual consent with the player.

The Salvadorian was currently on loan to Real Maryland from his former club San Salvador F.C. Due to a clause in his contract; however, Alas became free when the capital club was relegated to El Salvador’s second division.

With his new freedom, Alas jumped at the chance to join Salvadorian champions Luis Angel Firpo.

“I’m sad to be leaving Real Maryland,” Dennis Alas said after the Bermuda game, “but I’m excited about the opportunity to play for Firpo. I am excited to go back home and I will need to work hard to keep performing well with my new team.”

Alas’ final game with the Monarchs was Friday night’s 0-0 draw with Bermuda. Over the course of his short stay with Real Maryland, the Salvadorian international played 1,187 minutes over a total of 14 games, scored 3 goals from a massive 54 shots, and was whistled for 21 fouls.

Alas was also selected to the USL-2 team of the week twice including a USL-2 Player of the Week honor for his two goal performance in the 3-2 win over Cleveland in week 5.

“I’m very thankful to the coaching staff, the administration and the reporters at Real Maryland for their support,” Alas said about his soon to be old club. “I hope the team continues to improve and goes on to have a lot of success.”
