New U16 Super Y League Coach

 

Silver Spring, MD – Real Maryland F.C. is pleased to announce that Andres Parra will be the new Head Coach for the Monarch’s New U16 Super Y League Team.

“We are happy that Coach Parra will be heading up the U16 Team this year,” said General Manager David Noyes.  “He was a good player from the area and we are glad that he will be giving back as a coach with Real Maryland.”  Parra is currently the Head Coach of the Boys Varsity Soccer Team and Assistant Athletic Director at The Bullis School in Potomac, MD. 

Coach Parra played four years of collegiate soccer for the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC).  While playing for UMBC, the team was named regular season champions in three out of his four years.  In addition to being the regular season champions in 1999, the team went undefeated capturing the Conference Tournament Championship giving them a birth in the NCAA Tournament.  Besides his efforts on the pitch, Parra contributed to his school and team by focusing on academics earning America East Conference All Academic Team as well.

Before heading off to UMBC, Parra was a four year Varsity starter at The Bullis School, where he currently coaches.  During his tenure at The Bullis School as a player, he was an all IAC Team Member, Washington Post All Metro Team and All Gazette Newspaper First Team.  The team was ranked #1 in the state of Maryland and climbed as high as #3 in the NSCAA National Ranking Poll.

Coach Parra took over the Head Coach Position for the Boys Varsity Soccer Team after heading the Girls Varsity Program for two years.  During his time as the Girls Head Coach, Parra helped turn the program around to now what is a winning a program.  In addition to his duties as the Head Coach at The Bullis School, Coach Parra is also responsible for the coordination of daily practices and game scheduling as well as other administrative duties.  “I feel fortunate to be able to give back to the school that gave me so much,” says Parra.  “I am excited to have this opportunity with Real Maryland FC where it gets me back involved with the areas high level club soccer.”
