Player Bio

Cameron Chastain is one of the team’s fastest players and brings that element of depth to Coach Hudson’s backline. Chastain offers his versatility as a forward thinking defender, and brings that mind set to the Monarchs. Chastain Played four years at Liberty University before coming to Real Maryland FC. He scored 7 goals including 3 in tournament play, which earned him All-Big South Tournament Honors in both his Junior and Senior seasons.

Player Bio

Thomas Taylor, 22, started the 2006-07 season with Walsall FC of England’s League Two and then joined Halesowen Town of the Nationwide Conference South in January 2007. With Halesowen Town, Taylor played in 10 matches, scored two goals and recorded one assist.   The Linchfield, England, native began his professional career at the age of 19 with Norway’s Viking Stavanger in 2005, helping the club win the league title that season. Taylor played for the English side, Grimsby Town, during the 2005-06 season before joining Walsall FC in July 2006. Taylor was a member of Walsall’s youth academy from 1994-2003.Most recently Taylor has played with Portland Timbers (United Soccer League) and Wrexham FC (England).

Player Bio

Borrajo is a strong right back who comes to the Monarchs to help strengthen the back line, and contribute to the teams depth. John hails from Clifton, New Jersey and played four years at George Mason University, where he received the Fred Thompson MVP and the Dennis Hamlet Defensive Player of the Year, both in 2008. Borrajo’s leadership rivals any on the team. John captained George Mason his senior year and led them to an NCAA appearance. Hudson hopes John will bring that leadership to the Monarchs this season, as John has a good chance of leading the backline.

Player Bio

Jeff Carroll comes to Real Maryland after playing last season with D.C. United. Carroll is an incredibly strong half back with impressive professional experience. He was drafted in 2006 by United after playing four years of college soccer for St. Johns University. Jeff also has experience playing with the Brooklyn Knights in USL’s PDL. Carroll an his brother are ready to lead to the Monarchs to a division title in 2009.

Player Bio

Pat comes to the team with brother Jeff from DC United. Pat is an outstanding defender, he played all four years at West Virginia, and was then drafted by United in 2007. Pat has also made appearances for first division USL squad Rochester. Pat is another instrumental piece in the bolstered backline that Coach Anthony Hudson built during the off season. Carroll’s, game intelligence and skill will make one of the Monarchs defensive leaders in 2009.
