Real Maryland FC Summer Soccer Camps

Silver Spring, MD – Real Maryland FC is accepting applications for its new Summer Soccer Camp Programs that will be held at Richard Montgomery High School this summer.  Campers have the opportunity to train along side of the Real Maryland FC Professional Soccer Players.  There are three types of camp that will be offered this summer – Fundamentals of Soccer, Club Team Training and High School “Captain’s Practice” Team Training.  All three camps will be directed Head Coach Anthony Hudson and staffed by the Real Maryland FC Professional Team and Club Personnel.  All camps are open to boys and girls.

There are six weeks that are currently being offered through the dates of:

June 29th – July 3rd                       July 20th – July 24th

July 6th – July 10th                        July 27th – July 31st

July 13th – July 17th                      August 3rd – August 7th

Camp will be run Monday – Friday from 8:30 am – 3:30 pm with an extended stay option until 5:00 pm.  Campers will receive Real Maryland FC t-shirts at check in, tickets to a regular season USL 2 Professional Match and prizes during the week.

The Fundamentals of Soccer is set up to accommodate the beginner and intermediate soccer player.  The basic techniques of the game will be taught such as dribbling, passing, receiving, heading and shooting.  Physical dimensions will be introduced such as balance, speed, agility and explosion.  Light tactical instruction will be implemented through small sided games that build to larger numbers.  Some of the topics will include pressure, cover, balance in defending and width, depth and runs in offensive movement.  The fourth element that players will learn from the Monarchs’ Professional Players is the mental aspect of the game such as discipline, focus, determination and goal-setting.

The second type of camp that is offered this summer is Club Team Training.  The Monarchs will be training club teams to give them the professional edge.  Each club team will be coached by a professional player and/or coach.  They will be taken through a training camp that was designed prior by Real Maryland FC and your club team’s coach.  This is a great way for teams to improve during the off season while staying together locally.  Come learn from the Real Maryland FC Professionals where you can improve your individual technical skills and your team’s tactical skills.  Teams will train in the morning and then play against other teams during the afternoon.

The third type of camp being offered this summer by Real Maryland FC is High School “Captain’s Practice” Team Training.  Camp is open to Boy’s and Girl’s Teams at either the Varsity or Junior Varsity Level.  This is an opportunity for local High School soccer teams to get ready for their fall soccer season in an organized summer captain’s practice team training environment.

Maryland High School Soccer is played in the fall and pre-season camp is restricted to a certain time period right before the start of the season where the coach can train the team.  Through out the summer, High School soccer team training is conducted by the rising captains for the fall season.  This is the time the new team starts to come together after graduating its leaders of the previous season.

Real Maryland FC is offering the opportunity for your captain’s to develop their leadership skills more quickly with the guidance of a professional mentor/coach.  There are six different weeks to choose from where your Varsity/Junior Varsity team can come in and play in a training camp environment.  What is special is that the captain(s), along with team and a professional mentor/coach develop a strategic plan on the first day of camp for the rest of the week.
